De Voze Ridder deel twee

Translation: "Oh, my liege, perhaps you can help me, my nose is clogged up!"
"Dear Lord, thank you, you blew my nose clean!"
"Think nothing of it, but next time, use your finger!"

I thought for sure you would announce that they are also brother and sister.

That is for next week; stay tuned for "The incestuous siblings! The family that lays together, stays together!"

vanishingword said...

Yuck. Translate that.

Lebbercherrie said...

"De incestueuze broer en zus! De familie die tezamen poept, blijft tezamen" There, better? Give you a biscuit if you can say who coined the phrase "The family that lays together stays together" in a comic for the first time.

"Dig deep in your memory, you must, go back into time when you worked in comic book store, you must. Use the force, you must"

May I?

Lebbercherrie said...

Sadly, you are excluded. Nothing personal, but you know why. It was you who showed me that specific comic after all, you perverted fiend! :-)

I aim to please... and sometimes to 'pies'.
Translate... THAT

yuk yuk yuk.

"Hij mikt om te plezieren, en om te pissen. Maar niet al te goed."

Did you like the Roze and Voze Ridder?

Now put that in your pipe and smoke it!

Grappige kak, alleszins. Vooral diejen met brokeback. aha...haha... middeleeuwsen televies...ahaha.

Lebbercherrie said...

Ik moet er ook nog steeds mee lachen. Heb vandaag nieuwe Rode Ridders gescoord, dat belooft. Er zit er zelfs eentje in met een kerel die op een leatherboy lijkt.

Zimbob said...

Al eens over gepeinst om een Jommeke onder handen te nemen?
Neen, choco, neen...

Lebbercherrie said...

Now that's an idea! Ik heb wel geen Jommekes, maar zal eens rondpiepen. Misschien tweedehands bij de Patrick?

Did you see the documentary done about Robert Crumb's life?
I never met him, but I met Von Bode, who wrote Cheech Wizard.
My guess would have been Cherry Poptart, looks like I was wrong.

Incidentally it is 12:56 pm on April 17th here in California.

I've seen the documentary a few times throughout the years. But Vaughn Bodé, now that's one of the people I wish I had met before they died. (would've been difficult, you know, with him dying in 1975, and me being born in 1980) His comics and books are rather rare over here. I only got one in my collection. Crumb is a genius, but at times I just prefer Shelton (you know; fabulous furry freak brothers), because (Zimbob is going to crucify me for this) you need to keep on your toes for Crumb. Before you know it, he's in one of his downward spirals of selfcontemplation. And you don't want that when you need to relax. And i don't like the comics he made with his wife. Not one bit.

Lebbercherrie said...

What kind of man was Bodé?

Zimbob said...

why should I crucify you for your comment? True, I'm a huge Crumbfan, but I totally agree with you. Don't get caught by downward spirals.
But Shelton? That's my main reason for loving Crumb: technically he's a genius; whereas Shelton only showed he could really draw once in a blue moon. For the rest there are far too many mistakes in his work. I know, I know: I'm a perfectionist. Same goes for music.

Shall I scare you nevertheless? One word:
Bill Griffith.

Moowahahahaha

Lebbercherrie said...

Aahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! No Zippy, please!

At times Crumb should take himself not so serious, and true, Shelton should at times take his drawing more serious. Nevertheless; the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers make damn fine good reading.

Underestimated: Schultz.
Overestimated: Jim Davies
