Henry Rollins

I have to admit, I'm slightly obsessed with Henry Rollins. He's never falling-down-on-the-floor-clutching-your-groin-caus-you're-gonna-piss-your-pants-funny, but always entertaining, always correct and always 100 per cent sincere. Plus when a man with biceps the size of your head talks to you, you listen. Especially when he was in Black Flag. Let's hear his opinion on dating and reading:

Zwart en wit

Zwart-wit is een van mijn allerliefste manieren van tekenen, dus vond ik het hoog tijd om daar weer eens mee aan de slag te gaan. Maar veel mensen gaan me van gemakzucht beschuldigen, want Photoshop neemt nu eenmaal veel tijd en moeite in beslag, maar om deze criticasters voor te zijn, heb ik twee cartoons gemaakt.

Cartoon 1: Zelfhypnose

Soms zoek je uren aan een stuk naar een geschikte cartoon, soms springt hij je vanzelf te binnen. Op mijn werk kwam ik een boek tegen dat getiteld was "Zelfhypnose" Et voila; dit was wat ik daar onmiddellijk bij zag. Het helpt om een onnozel ventje te zijn om cartoons te tekenen.

Translation: Selfhypnosis.

"Fuck! It works! But "How to awake again" is the last chapter!" Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck!"

Cartoon 2: Chauffeurs

Soms teken ik echter zomaar een kop, en dan pas verzin ik de tekst erbij. Probleempje bij deze kop; ik ken deze man. Ik zie hem zo voor me, een Amerikaanse acteur, mager, lang, grijze haren, kalend, strenge blik. En ik kan maar niet op zijn naam komen. Iemand ideeën?

Translation: John P. Dillinger, architect: "Everyone who drives slower then me, is a bad driver, and everyone who drives faster then me is completely and utterly mad!"

Little problem: I drew the head without giving it much thought, but when it was finished, I saw the resemblance with an American actor, tall, skinny, grey hair, balding, stern gaze, older chap, and I just can't remember his name or any film he played in. Any ideas?
